This privacy policy sets out how Ipswich Counselling Centre and its individual Counsellors uses and protects any information that you give Ipswich Counselling Centre when you use our services, including this website, the contact email address and voicemail facility.
We, as individual associate counsellors, are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website or office voicemail then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

We may collect the following information through your initial contact email/s or voicemail/s:

- Contact information including email address, contact mobile or landline number.
What we do not request or collect online or by voicemail:
- Demographic information such as address, postcode, preferences, interests and specific details of personal problems and issues relating to your enquiry.
What we do with the information we gather in the counselling process
and sessions:
- During counselling we require information to understand your difficulties and issues that we will try to help you process.
- This information is held in mind by your counsellor and we might retain a brief non-identifiable handwritten resume of the session for us to process the work intellectually and ensure we provide a continuation of best practice.
- Any information including your address is held in a locked file only accessible to the individual counsellor that you are having therapy from.
- A qualified and experienced counselling Supervisor ensures we apply best practice by reflecting on our work and progress and from time to time we might discuss the work with him or her. Your identity remains anonymous throughout.
Security
- We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic protocols and procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online through emails, on voicemail and retain on file.
- All new voicemail calls to Ipswich Counselling Centre will be deleted and erased permanently within 14 days of receipt or after a counsellor has contacted the client or heard the message, whichever is sooner.

- All counselling electronic records, including contact communications held by individual counsellors on personal work-based electronic devices, such as computers and smartphones, will be deleted permanently on reading or listening to if it is a voicemail.
- Any printed or handwritten contact details and notes stored as a hard-written copy will be destroyed within six months of the end of therapy with the exceptions of information required for legal or professional disciplinary matters in which case they would be destroyed as soon as is permitted.
- You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the relevant Regulations and Laws of the United Kingdom specifically the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations 2018. If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
